Feed Your Soul!
We feed our bodies 21 times a week, whether it is hungry or not. Why not throw your soul a bone a couple times a week at least, even it doesn't seem hungry. The poor thing may be too weak from starvation to make its needs know. How quickly our spiritual needs fall down the list of priorities when we get tired or stressed. Ironically, that is when we need what God has for us the most. He can do so much if we would simply provide two things: willingness and commitment.
I would like to invite you to be a part of our Sunday school program. If you already attend, then I challenge you to rekindle your interest, not only in going yourself, but in seeing that your class grows and flourishes. Our teachers spend a lot of time in preparation. Let's come alongside that by taking it seriously. If you do not currently participate in Sunday school, you need to take the plunge. This is a tool that God is using to make His Word more central in our lives, and also to bring His people closet together.
Sunday School is for everyone! There is only reason we make a big deal about this. It is because we care! Let the scriptures take root in you. You'll be blessed! The only way to combat this biblically illiterate yet entrenched opinionated age is to be sure we are at our best. A world at its worst needs to see the church at its best. Stand behind your Sunday school teacher. Lift them up in prayer. This is important work.
God will honor a congregation where commitment is high and a sprit of expectation looms. He will entrust us with more responsibility and greater ministries. I can't wait to see it happen! Let it start with you.
Your Are Loved,
~Pastor Brian
